Sorry for ignorance, but what would you fetch from these voting results? There were already more than 100's threads before and as of now, if I am correct never seen any estimate data from any of us.
Its just sheer waste of time in calculating estimates. USCIS has its own rules and no one can predict them.

Nope. You are misunderstanding the point again.
The Article clarifies that that Congress has the power to regulate immigration. they used the power and created the INS laws we have today, which as per Congress is the hallmark of US immigration. We have to change those laws specific to EB.
You are muddling immigration laws with civil rights. Your argument about the current law being in violation of ANY constitutional right is completely baseless. You did not respond to my question about how the civil rights clauses you quoted have anything to do with immigration.

There is radio talk guy Sean Hannity (Convervative Republican). He is very popular for his straight and truth talk on radio. He comes in 7:60 AM on radio from 3PM to 5 PM EST.
We could send an e-mail or call and request him if he could take time to talk about our problem. He is very much against Illegal Immigration. He always supported legal immigration. He himself is an immigrant. Most of the people in Congress know him. Probably this might be a good idea and hope he will talk about our problems and this wrong propaganda about us not paying taxes.

There is no such thing as a CP and an AOS bulletin. There is only one official visa bulletin every month issued by the DOS's Bureau of Consular Affairs. The input for that comes from the Consulates all over the world who process CP applications and the USCIS which processes the AOS applications. But, both USCIS and the Consulates abide by the same visa bulletin which gives the cut-off dates for priority dates.

thanks for explaining. my suggestion then is to go to school on F1 (maybe ?) and get a degree that can help him/her get a job that qualifies under H1b.

You want me to come here and argue with people who can barely speak/write good english? People who defy the basic tenets of an argument.. (attacking the person as opposed to attacking the argument)?
I urge all to read "The story of my experiments with truth" by Mahatma Gandhi (if you haven't already). While in a prison in South africa.. he spent his time in jail making a leather shoe for the white supremacist who put him in jail. This is the prime example of loving the person but fighting the ideas he stands for. This was also depicted in the move-- "Gandhi my father"

See how he opened up a thread and threw a match to light the fire so that everyone starts fighting amongst themselves and he did not post again in his own thread .

If they are smart they should pass SKIL bill.
Senator Bill Frist introduced the modified senate version of CIR.
That includes "Subtitle B--SKIL Act" SEC 521 to SEC 532
This was done in the senate session before elections:

Great job and keep it up.
I talked about this IV to lots of my immigrant friends who are in different stages of GC processing. I feel those folks are thinking of getting a free ride with others contributions and hard work. I can only pity them for not being a part of the team. This kind of character would get them GC but would not get them to top in any profession. Still I did not lose my heart. I will keep on talking about IV with them and I beleive, one day they will feel to contribute.

I just thought I will play the devil's advocate.
It could be that $100 or $50 is a big amount for people. Maybe people do not make $80K a year, just half of that (there are may H1Bs like that). Micro-payments may be a better option for some people. Do we want to disallow those contributions as well? People who want to pay will pay and people who do not want to pay will not pay. I guess we just have to make sure that we donot deny the people who want to pay but cannot. :)
I am willing to go along with monthly payments as there seems to be a consensus on this forum that it is the best option.

What I meant is, if someone wants to contribute $60 over 6 months, they can do it rightaway. Just paypal it to donations at immigrationvoice.org, then remember to do it again after 6 months.
Why wait for IV to lay the red carpet, when you can walk in right now?

Does it matter whether the 485 is employment based or family based? I have a valid H1 (not stamped) and have just applied for adjustment of status (based on marriage to a USC) and AP. When I return from the planned travel, can I continue working for the company that I am currently employed with?

lots of EB3 qualify for EB-2 after such a long wait and in the first case they were put into eb3 although they could have gone to eb2...
I cant believe that EB-3 is at 2001 when we are getting to 2009..its really a shame on the system
if this is how they treat people the entire h1b needs to be scrapped or people spend thier decades in slavery working this unpredictable system thinking that they will get in next few months..its like chasing a mirage in the desert....

The date USCIS receives the application is important for Visa bulleting to be considered Current, not the date you delivered to USCIS.

I only knew of this movement today after reading the Washington Post. I will start contributing for now. I will do it gradually. I will also try spread the news to all people I knew who are also victims of the Visa Retrogression.

Hi,
Today I met an attorney(not the one from Insurance..that is WIP still).
He feels that the main target is Rental agency(with deep pockets) and not the others who were included as defendants.
His argument is,
-- I am on H1
-- Not much of bank balance
-- No assets
-- Have a very old 98 model car(not even lexus , BMW etc..)
-- With a spouse and 2 kids to be taken care of
So I am poor chap and there is nothing they can extract much out of my pockets other than the 50K which my insurance will pay. He feels it is pretty straight forward case.The only twist to the story is, he is thinking that some of the defendants(rental agencies and others) may file lawsuits against me [I donno what they can extract out of me] as police report/Insurance agency concluded it as my fault (80% - 20%) after the accident..
In case If I wanted to have my attorney, I need to cough up $275/hr and 5K check upfront and he feels his fee may add upto 10K by the end of all this. So not sure whether just go with insurance agent's attorney for the time being and just wait how it goes, even if the case goes against me as I don't have much bank balance etc I am not sure what they can get out of me..
Any thoughts??
