Nebraska Service Center mailed I-131 approval notices for me and my wife on 28th Oct. But we never received them. Its been a month now. So, I called USCIS today morning and they say I need to reapply for I-131 for my whole family because some one else might have picked it up.
I called up post office. They say they have no mails on hold.
Is reapplying the only way out?
This happened with me with Texas service center. They insisted they had sent it. But in reality they never sent it. I was told the same "You need to apply for a fresh one. That is the only way out of it." I was determined not to pay fees a second time for no fault of mine.

Get a copy of your I-140 approval notice. You should be ok. If you apply for a new job, you can apply for 3 years extensions as well as your priority date is portable.
If you are anxious, just pay $1000 and get premimum processing of H1 in the current job.

I have one suggestion for the website.. Search engines are usually parameters-averse. For instance Google claims they may stop crawling if the links have too many parameters. The non-forum part of this Joomla powered website mostly utilize &s and ?s parameters in the URL.
The Joomla installation comes with an SEF component that converts &s and ?s into comma-separated directory structures.. You guys can turn it on in the admin panel. The conversion makes the URL look even uglier but it is at least SEF-compliant. Or there are other third party Joomla components that do a better job (though may require slightly more tuning)

I graduated in MS (I'm on H4 currently) recently.My previous degree is from India (passed out BCOM in 1999). I dont have any IT experience.

Since there is a mad rush of i485 applications , USCIS is going to do lottery to select applications for approval.Rest of them will be rejected.
So I bet they will not select YOURS and yours will get rejected!!!!:cool:

HR of my Company screwed up with the content of the EB2 Ad posted in sunday newspaper. To save money they posted a partial AD with a link to the job listing on the companys website saying "Please goto this link for further information".....
Would this be ok?
If the company is paying the lawyer for the process, you just relax. They must have consulted the lawer before giving the ad and get directions, because the lawyer has to send these evidences when filing.
If not, you better check with an expert.

Hello All,
I am planning to start working for a new company starting June. I was wondering If I can start H1B visa transfer to the new company via premium processing(hopefully will get approved in 2-3 weeks) and continue to work for the current employer and get paid till the end of May, even the though the transfer would have been approved in the end of April.

Mail it in, if it's rejected you do not lose anything. According to the law (8 USC 1255) the USCIS should accept it.
Not according to this:
8 1255. Adjustment of status of nonimmigrant to that of person admitted for permanent residence.
(a) Status as person admitted for permanent residence on application and eligibility for immigrant visa
The status of an alien who was inspected and admitted or paroled into the United States may be adjusted by the Attorney General, in his discretion and under such regulations as he may prescribe, to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence if
(1) the alien makes an application for such adjustment,
(2) the alien is eligible to receive an immigrant visa and is admissible to the United States for permanent residence, and

Hi All,
This is forum for LC Sub cases. I'm on last phase of my L1B(5 years would complete on 2009) so my company a large corp evaluted my case as fit for LC Sub and applied I-140 on July 4th and 485 on July 27.
I have no status on my I-140/485 or 131 since got the Receipts. Got EAD.
Even after my FP the case also was not updated.
Question:
If you have filed your I-140 LC Sub are you seeing any progress on your file?
If yes, which date your I-140 was applied?
Was that standaline or Join filing with I-485?
Which Service center is handling your case?
