At this point I would tell him to just be safe and promise to use a condom.
You may not be happy with it but in the end he is going to go through with it anyway. Just telling him to be safe is the best you can do at this point.
If she was sleeping at your place I would to what my parents told us when I was living there. They said you can sleep together but please try not to have sex. Even though they both knew we were sexually active. We still did every once in a while but seldom and kept it very low key as to "not get caught".
Later when I was older I asked them about it and told them we did (this is years later and my parents are really cool). They told me the figured we would anyway. They just said it so that we wouldn't make it obvious. I believe their words contained the phrase "ignorance is bliss".

Not when there are plenty of people who don't know/don't care about such restrictions. You may refuse to do business with the studios due to their draconian rights management, but all the higher end services are covered with them. The result is you're one of the lowest spending consumers on the entertainment industry's radar.
The sad fact is, you don't want to play ball and they could care less when you're in the minority.
Do you ever wonder why you cable company doesn't offer any special limited time rates on basic cable service?
But I'm *NOT* one of the lowest spending customers... I'm constantly buying DVDs from Amazon... I don't have room for the DVDs I have as it is... My cable bill makes me want to puke.. I'd hold my entertainment spending up against any on this forum..
I'm refusing to buy the latest CRAP-laden disks, possible-broadcast flag-filled broadcasts, and downloads they're trying to shove down our throats in the future... I'm saying if they want to keep my future business at anywhere near my current rates, they better make the future DRM/Crap/etc more like what we have now, or they will loose sales..
How can that NOT be on their RADAR?

When it comes to Samsung, Apples out of its league.
Given the terrific success of the pads & phones, this attack on Samsung by Apple is quite out of place.
Any resemblance between a Galaxy and iPhone is to Apples advantage anyway. Yet that said, Jobs has always been highly paranoid.

Given the length of the original message and the terseness of Jobs' reply, it suggests that either he doesn't give a crap, or the iPad's virtual keyboard is a bit pants to type on.
Jobs always replies with short and sometimes witty responses.

Typical salesman crap. Just have to keep it in the freezer for 15 hours and churn the ice cream for 20-25 minutes and it will be ready. If not, it will take a few more minutes( often happens when I make Irish Cream ice cream as the alcohol lowers the freezing temp of the ice cream). But, it stays frozen plenty long enough for the ice cream to firm up.
Sorry for the hijack here but I bought it when he tried to sell me on something less money. Maybe it was him pushing the other brand. :o

After fratting around trying to get the concept of a modular website finalised in my head, I seem to be in the domain now of php and mySQL/web driven database programming - the dogs nuts way to achieve my current plan for a bilingual site.
We have the corporate image, we will provide all the artistic stuff, we want a dare I say, code head with an appreciation for snappy and very clean websites.
As far as monies, we are not asking for a freebie, at all, I want this thing to rock, but I am not going to roll over to the corporate master programmers out there who spend more on coffeee accounts than most humans consume on running their cars.
We are coming up with creative ways to finance various aspects of our project, some involve work now pay later, others are for a slice of a project's ownership. In the case of this website construction, anyone out there who seriously knows what they are doing, is inbetween jobs, or is striking out on their own and wants to earn good but not greedy money on a very good project please ask and I will send you our apparently well conceived and "detailed at a high level" spec (I can say it is good and detailed because one of these big time outfits thought it would be a really fun and novel addition to their CV, but hand over exorbitant sums, perlease)
For the successful programmer we will ensure regular and meaningful payments till the bill is paid off in full.
The quote has to be real world, not full of little tricks to add to the bill for a slight change in spec or maintain some sort of limiting control prohibiting us from being able to update our site whenever we want. (I was in the estimating game so I can smell an "extras motivated wide boy" from a mile off) and you have to like being pummeled with creativity, because our designer guy is Picasso on the PC.
Interested parties please send me a PM. Our website is aimed at kids, so it is totally cool material.
Thanks

I'm a switcher of two types.
Read on.
I've been a PC owner and builder ever since I built up a 233Mhz Cyrix from scratch years ago. It's been upgraded a few times and I've been satisfied with it up to now.
But then I saw the Cube.
For some reason I developed a little obsession over that cute little computer and attempted to learn all I could about it.
One thing led to another and before you knew it, I was deep in Apple-land and I didn't even realize it.
At that time I had Win98 on my PC and it was notoriously crash happy. I then read about MS's latest OS (XP) which was supposed to be a lot more stable so I got it.
And then my eyes were opened.
I never liked the idea of activation so I spend many wasted hours trying (and succeding) to crack it.
It ended up being a very reliable and stable OS, but as time went on, I learned more and more about MS's policies and became more uncomfortable with the idea of using one of their products daily.
So I decided to check out Linux.
After many failed attempts at getting the most basic of things working under Mandrake 8.2, I ended up wiping it and going back to XP.
A few months later a 300Mhz Blueberry iBook came up for sale right here on MR. I talked to my parents about it and they agreed that it would be a good investment to have when I move out. So I bought my first Mac! (still Cubeless)
But I wasn't done with my PC yet.
I had learned of this company called Lindows.com that was attempting to run Windows software on Linux. Interested, I looked up as much info as I could and decided to give it a shot after 2.0 was released.
My CD arrived in the mail and I installed it on a seperate hard drive and gave it a whirl. It was still a bit unstable, but much more usable than Mandrake.
I decided to wait until the final version came out to experiment with it again and I just got the 3.0 CDs in the mail a few days ago and I can now say I am on my way to becoming 100% MS free.
If it weren't for a couple of niche things, I would competely wipe XP from my hard drive and happily use Lindows and OSX.
Read on.

MUAHAAHA. Both of this chucklehead's crap auctions have been nullified and zapped into the ether by eBay. The original link is dead and searching the seller's past auctions yields no iphone auctions...only a fugly handbag he used when he was crossdressing. The toolbag gets NOTHING (as if he ever would have) and the buyer has zero obligation to pay this fool a dime (as if they ever did).
So stratobaterdan, let's hear all about how you're going to sue eBay or take the headquarters hostage with your toy guns, or whatever your next fantasy is. Wait, what's that? I think I hear your momma calling...
PWNED
Not going to lie, that's pretty hilarious.

The resizable text box will be awesome. There is nothing worse than some lame brain web designer that only lets you see one or two lines at a time when you need to see a lot more.
The solution that was shown on the blog site looked simple and elegant. Its about the user. Listen up you snot a$$ designers. :D :p ;)

really ?
looking at _production_ cars:
Toyota Prius from 2009: drag coefficient: 0.25
Tatra 77a from 1935: 0.21
Rumpler Tropfenwagen from 1921: 0.28
the late 30ties were actually the high point in aerodynamics being the focus in automobile manufacturing: there are countless of other examples from the time which simply never made it into production because of the war:
like the BMW K1 prototype which also achieved a value of 0.23 despite being a full 4 door saloon
another interesting car: the Fiat Turbina prototype: which had a coefficient of 0.14 (a record for 30 years) but any further development shelved because of problems with the expieremental fuel gazzling overheating turbine engine ;)
Thanks! That was fun following up on some of these early cars. Some of them are just gorgeous. It is amazing and inspiring that engineers working with slide - rulers and wind tunnels (and without fancy computers) could achieve the same kind of drag coefficients on their designs that modern supercomputers can come up with.
However - I still think my point stands ("Steadiness"). While small production cars may have been aerodynamic - the industry average was not. In fact I could argue that as engine efficiencies improved, industry wide, aerodynamics got worse because the overall mileage stayed much the same (or improved slowly).

If some web pages would "break" if you resize a text area, why is it such a problem? If I broke a web page by resizing, I'd simply drag it back to a "good" size again, and be no worse off than before. If it redraws dynamically it'll be quite obvious as you drag.
Having a screen come out wrong is already the case with many websites if I resize my browser window to make it very skinny, yet I don't hear people complaining that browsers allow you to do that.

I tried to search for topics about Apple's commercial banners with no results. Same with Google.
Anyway, I need to write an analysis of an ad. I thought an Apple ad would be inspiring in this case. So, what I need is any apple ad that's been printed or published online. A rather big picture would be cool.
Any help here would be appreciated.
