Ever since updating to 4.3.1 this no longer works for me. It doesnt seem like the dev is going to fix it anytime soon either.. are there alternatives?

Has anyone been able to force an apple store to guarantee a Lion O/S upgrade for free with the purchase of a Macbook pro now?
You cannot force apple to do anything.
They have a policy and they adhere to that pretty well. I believe that if you purchase a mac within 2 weeks of the release date you can get a free upgrade.
You'll have to wait longer for a Mac to actually come with Lion preinstalled as apple will need to flush the supply chain of macs with 10.6

Hi Everyone:
I've come back to the mac world. I've been away ever since my apple G3 was stolen. Now, I bought an apple I3 IMac 27". Hummm, I still miss my G3. Anyways, let's get to the problem.
In these threads, everyone is having problems with their IMac's not sleeping in Windows 7. Well not me. For me, my IMac is not sleeping in OS X [10.6.7]. I thought there was a hardware issue. Just to make sure it was not, I erased the hard drive and reinstalled the OS. Then, it was fine for awhile until I started installing software. The last thing I installed was skype in OS. And now it does not go to sleep in OS. Why doesn't my IMac fall asleep on its own in OS X? Could it be boot camp? Or, could it be skype? And yes, I reset the PRAM and followed the directions on the apple web-site and I even called apple care but, to no avail. I should have bought a Windows machine!
Just kidding....
Can someone help me please? If it's a skype issue then, I understand. But, why on earth would skype prevent my IMac from sleeping even when it is closed. It just doesn't make any sense for the programmers to have skype conflict with OSX 10.6.7; they would have resolved these types of conflicts by now.

I know. Back when the movie 'Anchorman' came out, I got free passes to a sneak peak at the Arlington Cinema & Draft. Traffic was (as usual) crappy to get there and we were running in at the last second when I got stopped by a rent a cop telling me I couldn't bring my crappy old flip phone.
I said, "What do you think I'm going to do with it? Make a bootleg video with a phone that doesn't record video?"
The guy says, "Well, you know the lingo!"
I said, "I know the lingo because I'm not a moron! It would be impossible for my phone to capture even 1 frame per second."
The guy then threatened me so we left and have never returned to that place. I hate rent a cops with a passion...

I second those who like to partition....very useful for test files, OS 9, obviously Panther beta ( but only if you are a developer mind...:rolleyes: ) ......and booting into if your main partion fails....good luck

I find it strange that you do websites for actual clients and can't manage to fix a "logo" as simple as that. It probably took Blue Velvet all of 5 minutes to knock that out. :confused:

ok, so now I'm posting from win7 using ie so it's all ok.
When win7 started it paused for quite some time then said to restart to use new device just found.
So ntfs-3g changes the way the partition works even when uninstalled.
Won't go down that road again.:confused:

Prior to this G5 I'd primarily used laptops for years. Particularly like the ALPowerbook keyboard for feel. Can't stand the normal Apple keyboards, or any normal ones really. Got the icekey maybe 1 month ago. I absolutely love it. And you don't have that issue...the only one...with the Powerbook when you are typing in Word, and go to hit the right shift key, hit the up button, and delete the last line or two...hate that...have to undo quickly. Not a problem with the bigger Icekey keyboard.
Lol, never encounterd that problem. This forum really helps me too, since I plan on buying a pmac G5, but i've used laptops all my life & want the small & sleek laptop keyboard feel.

...americans help me out here there is a store in NY that does electronics.....SNAP just came to me there its called JR Electronics !
Actually there are more than 4 stores in NYC--in manhattan proper, yes just those 4, but staten island has one, i don't think any other borough does yet tho
and beyond those and best buy, save your gas. J and R does not carry the iPad as of yet. accessories only.

I think all the stores worldwide are doing the T-shirt thing. Check out Apple Japan site, Google a translation to get it in English.

The iPhone 4 was a failure at launch. The antenna is broken. It drops Internet connections and calls if held a certain. The glass claiming to be strong is weak sauce and the only good things on the phone are the cameras and screen.*

Yes.....You are ! So what if you get a dropped call once in a while? Some people take it to far sometimes. I live in a rural area and it is rare that my Internet goes down and if it does, I just reboot it and it works !
